These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of the iOS application "Mealuto" (the "App") provided by Shohei Moriya ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Definitions

  • "App": The iOS application "Mealuto" provided by us.
  • "User": Any individual who installs and uses the App.
  • "Plus Plan": The one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase available within the App.

2. Purpose of the App

The App is a tool that automatically detects meal photos in your camera roll and turns them into food log entries on your device. Optionally, when you enter calorie values, the App also displays daily summaries. The food labels and calorie estimates presented by the App are for reference only and are not intended for nutritional, medical, or diagnostic guidance. For health-related decisions, please consult a qualified professional such as a physician or registered dietitian.

3. Fees and In-App Purchase

3.1 Free Features and Plus Plan

The core features of the App (automatic meal photo detection, meal logging, tags, favorites, etc.) are free to use. The following features become available with the Plus Plan, a one-time purchase priced at ¥800 (Japanese yen).

  • Recording and editing calories, with daily summaries
  • Extending the map history from the free plan's most recent 7 days to all entries
  • Extending the scan period to unlimited and the per-scan limit to 200 photos

3.2 Billing

Purchases and billing for the Plus Plan are processed through your Apple ID. As a one-time (non-consumable) purchase, you are charged only once and there is no auto-renewal. Once purchased, all Plus features remain available permanently at no additional charge.

3.3 Restoring Purchases

If you switch devices or reinstall the App, you can restore your Plus Plan purchase by running "Restore Purchases" in the App while signed in with the same Apple ID.

3.4 Refunds

As a general rule, refunds are not provided after purchase. For refund requests, please contact Apple Support.

3.5 Price Changes

We may change the price of the Plus Plan. Any such change will be announced in advance through the App or this website.

3.6 Transitional Provision for Legacy Monthly Subscribers

The Plus Plan was previously offered as an auto-renewing monthly subscription priced at ¥300 per month (the "Legacy Monthly Plan"). The Legacy Monthly Plan is no longer available to new users; however, existing subscribers retain access to all Plus features for as long as their subscription (including any free period granted via an offer code) remains active. The Legacy Monthly Plan continues to auto-renew unless canceled, and you can turn off auto-renewal at any time in "Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions" on iOS. To use Plus features after your subscription ends, please buy the one-time Plus Plan.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You must not engage in any of the following while using the App:

  • Any conduct that violates applicable laws or public order and morals.
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or modifying the App.
  • Unauthorized copying or redistribution of the App's source code or features.
  • Imposing excessive load on the App's servers or networks (where applicable).
  • Any other conduct we deem inappropriate.

5. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the App and its associated content (icons, design, text, code, etc.) belong to us or the respective rights holders. You may not use such content beyond the scope of personal use.

6. Disclaimer

  • Calorie values and food labels presented by the App are estimates and we do not guarantee their accuracy or completeness.
  • We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
  • App data is stored on your device. We are not responsible for restoring data lost due to device failure, loss, factory reset, or similar events.
  • The App is provided "AS IS" without any warranty, including fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Changes or Termination of the Service

We may change or discontinue the App without prior notice to you. We are not liable for any damages caused by such changes or discontinuation.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms as needed. Revised Terms take effect when posted on this website. Material changes will be communicated through App updates.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and the use of the App are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising in connection with the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Japanese court having jurisdiction over our location.
